A great work fundraiser: plant sale

I work for government, so we're forced to support the United Way. Not my first choice, but it's not so bad I avoid it.

I am excited for the next fundraiser: a plant sale! The idea is to donate whatever you can spare from your yard, and buy what you need with the money going to charity.

I plan to dig up some stray raspberry plants and bring them in. They retail for $4 each here, so I figure someone will likely get a bargain, United Way gets some money, and people have the opportunity to buy totally locally produced, locally suitable plants.

I should start some spider plants, too. My spider plants are covered in spiderlings.

Re: A great work fundraiser: plant sale

  • That's a great idea, to donate your own plants!

I really came in to say that I made your carrot lentil soup and am eating it for lunch today. The family loved it, husband gobbled it right up two nights in a row. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

  • The soup freezes very well if you ever want to double the batch and save some for later (or just not eat it several days in a row). It's been my lunch at work a couple days this week.

    Glad you liked it!
