hello. (been a luker for a few wks now) i'm new to the board. just wanted to introduce myself, i'm dianna. dh and i were married in paradise valley in 12/2006!! yikes, thats a long time ago but we def still feel like newlyweds!! 
Tayrusso, i once read that you are young and married (duh)...well i was 20 and dh 24 when we were married..we met, got engaged, got married all in 9 moths. 3+ years later, we still are falling in love more & more each day! it's awesome to know others are just as crazy as us!

thx for the warm welcome ladies! i'll def join the meetup site right now. we just bought our first place (a 3bed/2.5 bath townhouse for a jaw dropping total of $35k!!!) in the central-ish phoenix area. we lived in chandler since 06 near the q. golf course and def miss 'town' living but so grateful to OWN something.
Tayrusso, i grew up in FH. lived in 'lost hills' on sunflower drive. HAHA. wow, i seem to have alot in common with you.
our pup is a shih tzu mix...have no idea what he's mixed with as we resuced him from the pound. we also had a white pit bull/lab/greyhound mix that we resuced as well named sarah but she sadly is no longer with us.
barack and sarah...get it. we aren't into politics or anything but did name our dogs after political figures...just for a good laugh. hope not to offend anyone! 
My DH grew up on Bittersweet! Wow, we do have a lot in common. I think you are due for a visit to FH, lol.
PS - how on earth did you find a house for that price?!?!?!?!

wow, let's say SMALL WORLD.
we started our home search in like december 2008...saw LOTS, LOTS, LOTS, and even some more houses. we really had our hearts set on buying in chadler. well, that market (or at least area) didn't seem affected by the economy as the prices were still in the high $300k! sooo, in may-ish 09 we finally said screw it we aren't buying sh!t. then sometime later my grandparents sat us down and said that we need to expand our search into other areas and made us relize that we didn't need a huge house...it's just us and kiddos aren't for us right now. so, on october 30th at 7pm we peaked through the windows and on halloween finally saw the inside and we wrote our offer.
it's a fixer upper for SURE. but we are beyond thrilled to know that (god willing) we will be debt free in about 5 years!!
Wow that is really great, all the money you saved can be put towards renovations!
Our house has undergone a massive overhaul. The previous homeowners left us with a project in every room. But renovating has been a great experience, we're *almost* done.
ETA: our house is near the charter school in FH, not sure if you are familiar with that end of town...
ETA (2): You graduated from FHHS in 04, right? I would've been a freshman, holy crap.

i graduated in 05 but not from FHHS. i went to a prep academy in phx. i did go to the middle school before they built the new one by the charter school...so i do know that area! LOL. congrats on almost being done! we did some minor updating but are doing MAJOR (like tearing everything down besides the framing( once we have paid the house off. i would love to hear about your experiances and see pics...do you have a blog??
No, we don't have a blog, but we'd like to start one once things calm down a bit. I have a few "before" pictures, but no "after" (not yet at least).
