Kinda sad
I am no longer going to Mexico. I was so excited to go but with all the crime and this stupid new law here, we decided not to do. The Hubs and our friend do not want to risk our safety...oh well
BUT we are probably going to Washington DC now. I hope. Ugh, boys needs to make up their damn minds.

But totally understandable. I've been to DC but was a kid, so I don't remember too much (school trip) but I do remember thinking it was beautiful! It's on my travel-to list for sure. Let me know if its worth a trip back.

Portland!!! OMG- 1) they have NO sales tax, so it's like saving 10% on anything you buy (last time I went I bought a coach purse for my mom for Christmas). 2) I LOVE their Downtown area. The Portland Grille is AMAZING! 3) they have the coolest "China Town".

Where in Mexico were you planning on going to? In April I went to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Ensenada twice (on cruises) and felt perfectly safe. As long as you stay away from the border towns and stay at the resort once you get there (unless it's a really touristy area) you'll be fine! I hate Cancun because you can't leave at all since there's nothing there, but Puerto Vallarta was fun and there were enough things around the resort that I was able to leave a bit. In Ensenada I walked around town by myself and was perfectly safe and I'm the palest person you'll ever meet so I'm obviously not Mexican. However, I would go to Nogales or Tijuana right now if you paid me! But anywhere else I'd still go!
But I hear Portland is amazing! I've been trying to get up there for years and have yet to make it.
I saw Voodoo Donut on Man v. Food, and I've wanted to go to Portland just to see that place! If you end up going, you have to take pics and post them!

I'm from Portland! Kind of--lived there freshmen year of high school till a year after I graduated.
Voodoo Donut is AWESOME. I miss Portland a lot. If you want any info, pm me with your questions. There are a ton of cool things to see and do, a lot of hiking things, wonderful diners/restaurants, shopping is amazing, love it.
