Goody bags ?

As I've posted before, DH and I are having a bacon-centered party in a few weeks. Everyone was asked to bring a dish, so we have prizes for our most inspired guests.

I bought pink treat bags, so the winners can each choose their gift - without knowing the contents - but how the heck do I decorate them?

I tried making strips of bacon out of red and white paper, but I don't like it. I have already spent way too much on random bacon junk, so I don't want to buy bacon stickers, though I'm tempted.

Re: Goody bags ?

  • haven't seen any of you posts but curious why a bacon party?? do tell Smile

p.s. could you buy a bag of dog bacon treats & glue them on? Seems like that would be cheap.

  • That's a really good idea - will have to run it past DH. He came up with the idea to find pics of bacon online; print them and stick to the bag. We'll probably experiment.

As far as the party - it's a bacon-centered party. Our parties are always casual, so I'll make finger foods and other easy things with bacon (veggies with a bacon dip; bacon-wrapped pineapple; potato salad w bacon; baked beans; bacon-wrapped hot dogs; BLT bowls; BLT bites; chocolate bacon cupcakes; and bacon chocolate chip cookies). Guests were asked to bring bacon-inspired dishes, which we guess will be... creative. So I wanted to be pretty normal with the things I make.

We also got baconnaise, bacon salt, chocolate dipped bacon, bacon syrup (like you put in lattes and stuff). We're debating bacon vodka now.

So we'll see how it goes! We got some funny gifts (IMO). Man, my house will REEK for a very very long time.

  • I must say I have never heard of chocolate dipped bacon or bacon vodka! WOW! I would like to try those.

  • You can make your own bacon vodka... though the pictures from the "recipe" i saw online were horrifying!

Poor DH spent $20 on chocolate covered bacon, then we went to Whole Foods today and saw some really cheap.
