We have a lot of feral cats in my neighborhood. I mean a lot.
I have a small garden area in the back and I would really like to use it, but it seems like every time I go out, I find that it's alternate use is 'litterbox.'
My Question is: Are there any plants that I can put in that will make this space less appealing to the cats while still being an attractive and useful garden space for me?

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
Thanks for ideas. Here is what I ended up doing:
I covered the box with chicken wire which is admittedly ugly. I planted Lavender and Lemon Balm plants which smell fantastic to ME. And I used some of the chicken wire rolled up and wedged into a hole between the house and the fence where I think the cats like to walk through. This sounds a little hostile in retrospect, but so far no cat piles. :-)
