Rose of Sharon
For those of you that have one, when does it normally start budding with the leaves? I'm in Zone 5 and ours doesn't have any buds yet and I thought in years past, it had by now. Several off-shoots (from the ground) have leaves on them, but the main 'tree' doesn't have any on any of the branches. I mentioned it to DH yesterday and he's ready to take the chain saw to it. In case that it just might be late this year because of weather or what not, I want to wait on cutting it down.

most branches of our Rose of Sharon have green leaves already, but there was one whole branch that was just twigs (on the back side, most away from the sun) so i went ahead and cut it off this weekend... i know i probably shouldve waited until it bloomed, but oh well
