  • We're good. We're in Houston with family. I can't wait for this storm to pass over the next day or two to see what we're going to have to deal with when we get back. I hope everyone made it out of town safe & sound.

  • I'm safe in Houston. I don't like the fact that Jim Cantore is in Houma, thats where my home is. I will be anxious to get word in the morning when this things passes to see what it has done. Also worried about my husband, he is a wildlife and fisheries agent, they are getting ready in BR to see where they will have to go for search and rescue. Hoping they send him back to terrebonne parish so he can check on our house. Hope everything tunrs out ok for you guys.
  • We're good so far.  We still have power.  It's rainy and windy but we're ok so far in Covington.  But I'm sure it's going to get worse.  I hope all of your houses and family stay safe.
  • Hi there!  We are in Pensacola Beach in a hotel with family.  Our evacuation wasn't as bad as we expected - we didn't leave Metairie til 6a sunday, but we took hwy 90 (Chef) all the way out to Biloxi.  We arrived in Pensacola around 2:30p.  So far today we have had some rain and wind, but nothing truely scary.  My FIL stayed back at home so he will go around to check on our home later when things calm down.  Glad to hear you guys are safe.  :)
  • We are in Panama City, FL.  I am not able to check my e-mail as I hoped for.  The hotel we are staying at is pet friendly but does not have wireless internet.  I am in a parking lot of another hotel checking my mail.  Hopefully we can get back in soon.  We lost the roof on our house and Iam scared that I am going to have to redo the house that we just finished.  I hope everyone makes out OK.  I will check back with yall later.  I think we will be trying to make it back this weekend if not before.  It all depends on the traffic.  One good thing is that we never lost power at our house so no stinky fridge and freezer to clean this time Thank God!!!
  • I'm here, just got back to my house today. After much stressing out and a few melt downs, I decided to go to my sister's house in Gonzales. Turned out to not be a great idea, but at least I was with my family. It is SOO nice to be back in A/C and warm showers. I have one heck of a mess to clean up in my yard, but so far I haven't really found any damage other than our fence is slightly leaning. So grateful everything is OK! AND, DH should be able to make it back home tomorrow.

  • we're in Tuscaloosa, AL....DH is dying because there's Bama stuff EVERYWHERE.  It's the equivalent to a Bama person ending up in Baton Rouge.

Anyway, we may go back tomorrow...we'll see how the sewerage system looks.  We live on the westbank.
