Anniversary ideas..

Hi ladies.  Dh and I live in Columbia and are looking for a quick weekend getaway for our anniversary the first weekend in June.

We lived in KC for about 7 years and did a getaway there last year...so we are thinking stl this year.

What do you ladies suggest for places to stay, places to eat, and things to do?

For an idea of what we like to do - last year we got a decent hotel for 2 nights, went to a comedy club one night, went to dinner at decent places (nothing too crazy...we like simple food, ha), had drinks in a couple of different neat bars, etc.

There is a restaurant known for their classic coctails and ice cream.  My husband and I went there before the Cardinals game last week - it's called the Fountain on Locust.  You can get a discount gift certificate to there on restaurant.com.  If you like Italian food Charlie Gitos is also really good and you can get a discount gc there as well.  As far as where you stay that will depend on what you want to be close to.  When i have family come visit they tend to stay just accross the river because it is less expensive.  Some of them have stayed in the hotel attached to Lumier place and said that it was very nice.  I have also heard that the mellenium hotel is spactacular and the views of the arch are breathtaking.  They have a rotating restraunt at the top of their hotel that is pricey but good. I'm a huge fan of the Delmar loop.  There's a ton of places to eat (blueberry hill and pi are two of my personal faves), with lots of different cuisines, and the moonrise hotel is very nice.  They have a rooftop bar at the moonrise too, which is pretty cool when the weather is nice.

I second the Delmar Loop/Moonrise Hotel. See who's playing at the Pageant or Blueberry Hill. Spend a day in Forest Park.
