What to wear end of May in Chicago?

We'll be there next weekend and it looks like it will be in the low 70'? What do you typically wear at this time of season? Can you still wear jeans and a short sleeve shirt and bring a thin jacket at night? (I'm actually longing for some COLDER weather;-)

Re: What to wear end of May in Chicago?

  • Check the weather RIGHT before you come.  They cannot even tell you what it's going to be like the day of, let alone a 10 day forecast.  I'd bring a sweater or wrap for night because, especially by the lake, it can be very cold at night.
  • Good idea! Especially since we're staying on Michigan Lake close to the water:-)

  • Jeans are perfect.  I'd dress in layers.  Short-sleeve top with a light jacket that you can take off if it gets warm.  I might even bring a warmer top to wear under the jacket if it gets chilly at night.  It's been in the 40s and 50s at night.

For some crazy reason, Weather.com is forecasting a high of 87 this Sunday.  I wouldn't count on that, but I guess it could end up being pretty warm.  That's like July and August temperatures.

And this time of year bring an umbrella, just in case.
