Do you sew?

I got a sewing machine for Christmas and have been slowly learning how to use the thing. I made my first (two!) garments this weekend...and while they're wearable (I'm actually wearing the first one today) they're certainly not amazing.

If there's anyone out there who actually knows what they're doing...please help! I don't have any specific questions, but I would love to sew with someone who knows what they're doing (and yes, I know there are classes...I'm looking into taking one!).

I've done some sewing in the past, but I've gotten really into it lately.  A couple years ago, my mom's aunt came to town to work with my sister and me.  We had so much fun- for two days she taught us some machine basics and we churned out several aprons for Christmas gifts.  Later that year I made stockings for DH and me for our first Christmas.  I've been wanting to try quilting, and one of my good friends recently took a class (in Augusta) and seeing her quilt gave me the push to sign up for a class.  I'm taking classes at the Bernina Sewing Center on Wade Hampton.  Tomorrow's my 3rd class (out of 5) and I'm really enjoying it!  I'll finish up on June 1, and then I'm going to take a class that meets on the 8th and 15th that will make the Amy Butler swing bag.  Eventually, I'd like to start sewing clothes, but I really do like quilting.  I'd look at the Bernina Sewing Center website and see if there's any classes that interest you.  If I can, I'd love to take one with you!  I'll post a picture of my quilt once I'm finished with it!
