Foil yogurt lids - recyclable?

Are the foil yogurt lids recyclable?  My curbside recycling company takes just about everything but before I being tossing them in, I wanted to see if anyone here knew.

Thanks!
Heather

Re: Foil yogurt lids - recyclable?

  • I've never had a problem with the garbage man taking them in the recycle bin.

  • My understanding is if foil is clean, it is recyclable. If it has food stuck to it then it should be thrown away (like if you like a pan to bake chicken or something)
  • Call your recycling company and ask.  Ours for example, doesn't take foil or plastic bags, which is really annoying.  So I can recycle the newspaper, but not the plastic sleeve it comes in.  I have to hoard those and take them to the recycling bin at the grocery store.
