Went to a new farm today!

Even though it is raining here in the Poconos, I stuck with my plan to check out a new farm today.  This is one that I found on Local Harvest.  The owner is a former member of "Corporate America" who retired a few years ago and now farms.  Her husband is still working...he is a PhD chemist.

She has produce, farm-fresh, pasture-raised eggs, and potted herbs.  She also keeps goats, although she doesn't sell anything from the goats.  I loved playing with them today though...I just love goats!  She also teams up with a farm in Lancaster County to offer organic, humanely-raised, grass-fed beef, as well as organic, humanely-raised chicken.

Today, I got three bunches of asparagus, two bags of spring mix greens (I know what I will be eating at work this weekend for lunch), and a dozen eggs.  I don't know yet if I am going to buy meat through her.  I think you have to buy it in larger quantities than I usually do.

Next time I am there in good weather, she is going to give me a tour of the place.  I am really excited about adding her produce and eggs to our diet this summer!
