Murphy's Law for Gardening
I'm anxiously awaiting my cosmos plants to do something exciting like GROW! I bought a few bedding plants for instant gratification and direct sowed some seeds. I see the seedlings, but they are taking their sweet little time getting bigger.
My theory is that the Murphy's Law of gardening will kick in while I'm out of town on vacation. Once I get back, I'm sure my garden will be over run with mammoth plants - kinda like what happened to me one year with my vinca. I came back after a 10 day trip to discover in the TN heat, my vinca were towering over my other plants. The down side is I don't get the fun part of watching them grow while I'm home.
My direct sown zinnia on the other hand are growing like crazy. At least one plant wants to please me!

Well you could take a potted plant with you!! bahahahahahaa
It probably wouldn't even sprout if I did! LMBO
I'm jealous about your zinnia.... I planted mine from seed and they are only about 2" tall.
Yes everything will burst while on vacation. I had small squash plants two years ago when I went to England. I came back to vines that were almost in my neighbor's yard 40 feet away.
