Rec. your camcorder

Sorry, I've never been on this board before, but was hoping you all might be able to help.  While we were on vacation my husband mentioned wanting a small video camera.  His birthday is in June and I was thinking about getting one for him.  Something high quality and fairly compact.  Any recommendations would be appreciated.  Thanks!

  • I don't own one, but I've heard a lot about those Flip cameras. They are tiny!

About to post the same thing:

I know I want hard disk drive and/or flash memory and would like a High-definition but not required. We're mostly shooting indoors and but still would like to get something with good light and sound quality. Read on Consumer Report that Cannon Vixia were good but before I spend $700+ i'd like a second opinion. Thanks

My hubby and I purchased the Canon Vixia last summer... personally I love it. It is a bit more pricey than the small flip camcorders, but the quality far out weighs the rest. I'd definitely purchase another and recommend it!
