I hear this is a blast!
Has anyone ever been?
Tips?
Best time to go?
Is it worth the 6.5 hour drive?
Give me the low down!
Re: Apple River
Are you going with friends? It's gotten pretty dirty & gross over the years. The last time I went I was about 8 yrs old and had a snake in the middle of my tube -- can you tell it was traumatic for me?! haha
But really, I haven't heard much good about the Apple River over the past years. Filled with tons of young drunks, the water is nasty, etc. But if that's your thing, then go for it
My cousin & his buddies went a few years ago & a random drunk guy on the shoreline threw a boulder at one of my cousin's friends (for no reason, other than him being a drunken idiot), knocking out his front teeth. Classy.
awesome!
I posted this question on a couple different boards and I think I missed the time line to do this.
Yes we'd be going with a group of about 10-15 friends (ages 25-30) and while we like to have fun & party, we are not into the frat boy antics.
Someone suggest Wolf River, which looks very nice. I think we're leaning toward that instead.
The Wolf River is Awesome we do this every year for my birthday with some friends and it's a great time no matter what your age is. You can do the 8 hr or I believe it's 3 but we always do the 8 hr. Whether you drink or not it's an all around good time.
It's clean for the most part and we usually go in June and it's actually not to cold. Everyone is super nice no matter what groups you run into everyone is just looking to have a good time.
Thank you! I've heard very good things about Wolf River so we will do that.
I heard they do not do the 8 hour one anymore though because of how low the water is in some areas?
