AW: Loved our Farm Tour on Sat.

Many of the farms in our county open up to the public twice a year (Spring and Fall) for Farm Tours.  We always go, the Spring tour was this past weekend and we had a wonderful time as always.

For some reason, the pictures from past tours won't PIP, so here's the link to the Flickr album:

Here's a YouTube video of our Farmer's Market manager, Chris Hatch, who is the most adorable farmer ever.  He does amazing grass-fed beef, his brother Bill runs a winery next door to the cattle fields.

Do you have farm-related plans for this spring?

Re: AW: Loved our Farm Tour on Sat.

  • I'm going home to visit my parents... but probably not until July.

They branded/castrated yesterday. Those are the days I am so glad I went to university and got the eff off the farm.

  • I just posted yesterday about the farm I went to yesterday.  It's a small (14 acre) one, but it should serve most of my produce and egg needs for the spring, summer, and early fall!

  • The farm we get our beef from (pictured in siggy) is having an open farm this weekend. They have grandkids, so there is a big play area/swingset for the kids. And they'll be able to visit with the calves, which they will love. The farm is in such a beautiful location. There are trails to walk on etc.

So if the weather holds I think we'll make a day of it. :)
