Favorite Summer Cocktails...

Hi!  Please post your favorite summer cocktail recipe....

TIA

Re: Favorite Summer Cocktails...

  • I mix Simply Limeade with a good brand of vodka and a splash of cranberry juice... very refreshing and oh so good!
  • White Sangria- basically I throw whatever fruit I have into a pitcher w. a bottle of white wine & 3/4c of simple syrup. Let it set in the fridge for at least 3 hrs (I usually make it in the morning if I have a party at night). Then before serving- top it off w. either more wine, club soda, or sprite.

    It's so yummy.

I usually use: pineapple, strawberry, apple, peach.

  • I really love caipirinha's or mojito's.  Here's a recipe for a Caipirinha, but it's really just cachaca with lime juice and sugar or simple syrup to your tasting.

    The Caipirinha Recipe

    You will need:

    • Cachaca
    • Limes
    • Superfine sugar
    • Crushed ice
    • A "lowball", "rocks" or "Old-Fashioned" glass
    • A pestle (from a mortar and pestle -- or something similar) for the muddling

    Preparation:

    1. Cut the ends off of the lime and discard.
    2. Cut the lime in half lengthwise and cut out the white pith in the middle.
    3. Cut the lime in half, and cut one half of the lime into four wedges and place in the glass. If your lime is small, you will need to add more lime to the glass.
    4. Add one to three tablespoons of sugar. The amount of sugar depends on your personal taste as well as the size of the lime you are using.
    5. Use the pestle to "muddle" the limes and sugar together. Basically, you want to crush the limes so that they mix in well with the sugar. Be careful not to break the skin of the lime. When you've gotten all of the juice out of the lime, you're done.
    6. Pack crushed ice in the glass all the way to the top.
    7. Add cachaca all the way to the top of the glass. (It's really only about 2 oz.)
    8. Use a larger glass or bottom of a cocktail shaker and put it over the top of your drink. Pick up with two hands and shake very well for at least 15 seconds.
    9. Garnish with a wedge or slice of lime.
    10. ENJOY!
  • More drink than cocktail, but this is my favorite:

    Malibu Rum

    Orange/Pineapple Juice Mix

    Grenadine

Mix with ice.  I also substitute tequila for the rum sometimes.  Both are delicious.  Not sure if it's a Sex on the Beach or a Tequila Sunrise?

  • My SIL gave me this recipe and I love these margaritas...so simple and super delicious!

1 can limeade concentrate - thawed

    1 Corona

    1 1/2 c. tequila

I usually add about 1/2 can of water (from the limeade mix).

Stir and serve - or blend with ice for frozen margaritas.

    Yum yum yum!!

This is just like my friend's Millerita recipe, but of course she uses Miller.  Very delish!

  • Love it,  Love it!  Thanks for your recipes...
  • Ditto Mojitos!  Sometimes I will make a batch of simple syrup with mint leaves and then I don't need as much fresh mint for each mojito.
