What did you get into this weekend?
Re: What did you get into this weekend? NFT
Friday: out to dinner for BIL's birthday
Saturday: gym and lunch with friend, cleaned apartment, cooked meal for 7 people, had more friends over and watched Clemson game (cried myself to sleep)
Sunday: went to church, went to family cookout, napped at parent's house, watched old Steve Martin movie that wasn't very good, sadly
Monday: slept in, hit up Chick-fil-a for the free strips ;-), lounged by the pool, went out to dinner with SIL and BIL
Tuesday: Ick...back at work...
It was completely boring, but really relaxing!
Fri: DH and I grilled out and hung out at home
Sat: we watched espn's Game Day, went out on the boat w/some friends, came back and watched the Clemson game. Got mad, went home, and went to bed.
Sun: went to ILs for dinner, came back and worked on our wedding album a little.
Mon: DH left to go to LA for work, and I did some things around home and relaxed.
WARNING... this post is WAY too long. But my weekend really was this busy You don't have to read it.
My parents were here this weekend, they got here Friday night around 6. Once they arrived we went to dinner at MiMi's Cafe, and then went to Garden Ridge to look at some things for the house, and mom bought some artificial flowers for the graves back in WV. We also stopped at BestBuy and looked for some flat-screen mounts. We got home and visited, unpacked a little, and called it a night.
Man this whole weekend is a blur... This is hard to remember what happened when.
Saturday Zach and my dad stayed at the house to try to make our garage door work better, and mom and I went to the old apartment complex to drop off the keys, then we went to the place on Congaree that only has patio furniture... BOY are the expensive even when they have an end of summer clearance!
We had lunch at Southern fried Green Tomatoes by the Haywood mall, then went to Kirklands, Havertys and Rooms To Go to look for some accent pieces. We wound up buying several things for the living room. Then we went to Garden Ridge and got some barstools for the kitchen, a fake tree, and candles. We went to Barnes & Nobel and got a coffee table book and then I found out my mom had never been to coldstone so we went there for a treat.
About then Zach and my dad called and they were headed to Costco to buy our new flat screen TV so we met them there only to find out they had sold out of the TV. The boys went back to the house and got some dinner and mom and I kept shopping.
That evening we went to Brixx pizza and sat outside and listened to a local jazzish band. After dinner we stopped at Lowes and got some extension cords for the living room and for the weed eater.
Sunday we played hookie from church and instead went to the Spartanburg Costco to get the TV, we spent the morning getting it all set up. Then mom and I told the boys we were going to "the grocery store" but we really went shopping again We went and ordered an occasional chair for the living room from Rooms To Go and we also stopped at the grocery store as we'd originally said we would, and we went to to Big Lots to look for a basket... that was a bust. We also bought another fake tree at Garden ridge.
My cousin his wife and their little girl came over for a while on Sunday and helped us carry some furniture. My parents traded us bedroom furniture as their room is really small and our master bedroom is pretty big and they wanted the smaller furniture... So we unloaded my furniture from my parents' house from their truck and then loaded my furniture I'd had here into their truck. It was SOOO hot outside.
That night for dinner we went to Milanos in Simpsonville with my cousin and his family.
Monday we got up at 8:00 and started working in the yard. We only stopped to go to sears and lowes to buy hedge trimmers and an edger. We also wound up picking up a sprinkler and a hose nozzle for good measure. At Sears we also bought this awesome garage organization system. We love it so far and it was pretty inexpensive as far as organization systems go. It's called the Gladiator GearTrack and you buy the plastic strips for the garage wall and screw them into studs, and then they have a HUGE variety of different types, styles, and purposes of hooks, shelves, and baskets. They all just kinda snap in and you can move them whenever you want. We got a wire basket for my cleaning supplies in addition to hooks for all our new lawn toys.
I learned lots about lawn care yesterday. I learned how to, and trimmed all of our shrubs and we also got an edger and I learned how to use that. We hadn't been done edging for 10 minutes when the neighbor came over to see what we had done because it looked so nice! She went right out and bought an edger too! We're starting to beautify the neighborhood one home at a time!
we also pulled weeds in the landscaping, and zach ran the weed eater (he mowed on Saturday)
Finally around 7:30 we finished our lawn work and took LONG showers we were filthy, then went to dinner at Fatz. When we got home we were all so tired we watched a few minutes of football and were in bed by 10:30!
Today I woke up with a migraine about 6:30. I'm guessing it was from dehydration and the sun yesterday, I got pretty burnt.
Anyway it was a great but VERY busy weekend with my parents. WE got SOOOO much done, but now I'm ready for a vacation to recover!
Holy cow that was quite a weekend.
Try Old Time Pottery for a basket - they have tons.
Milano's is FABULOUS!
Is Southern Fried Green Tomatoes good?
MRSZ, I'm glad you got so much done/started getting settled in.
Our weekend wasn't quite as active, but we got plenty done.
Saturday-got up EARLY and went to my IL's in Myrtle Beach to check on my FIL-he had spinal surgery last Tuesday and DH was really anxious to get there and see him for himself. Thankfully, he's recovering very well, just taking his time with everything so nothing detrimental happens to screw up his healing.
Sunday-came home that afternoon and picked up the dogs. cleaned up around the house and did laundry and all that fun stuff.
Monday-mowed the yard, and did some yardwork, cleaned up around te house and just had some US time :-)
Today-getting stuff organized for the rest of the week and working @ the gym this afternoon/evening. :-)
Friday: Our cat had to have surgery to remove a cyst on her neck. So we spent most of the day at home, with me trying to keep my hubby calm. After dropping our cat off at the Vet, we drove to Greenville to have breakfast at Cracker Barrell and then did our grocery shopping for the weekend at Whole Foods.
Saturday: We went to spartanburg to do some shopping at the mall. We returned a food processor at Bed, Bath and Beyond and picked up some of the other stuff we had on our registry.
Sunday: We met up with some friends of ours at MiMi's cafe in Greenville to have Brunch. Then we went to Linen's and Things in Greenville to buy some more stuff with the wedding money. Then we went to go see the new Star Wars movie before heading over to have dinner with my parents.
Monday: Lazy day! Danny (my husband) made me breakfast (a mushroom omelet) and then he cooked a big dinner (pot roast and mashed potatoes). We just spent the day around the apartment doing nothing!
I wish it was something exciting, but it wasn't. DH and I went to a bluegrass festival Saturday evening, but the music was mediocre. The ice cream however...whoever thought up the idea to make banana pudding ice cream is nominated for sainthood in my book.
Otherwise, DH and I just got on each other's nerves because we're both stressed. :-(
I did go house hunting in Greenville yesterday, and I found one house that I liked a lot. I'm just waiting for the realtor to call me back.
my my ladies most of you were so busy you'll put my weekend to shame!
Friday- worked half a day for a little OT then went home and took a nap. After the nap we went to my sister and BIL's to hang out with them and see my neice...then we got home late and went straight to bed.
Saturday- we got up early and <me, Bri, BIL, SIL) went to NC for a cookout with Brians family. That was a lot of fun. We had the cookout at the national park and I put my feet into the water (38 degrees!) it felt so nice! After that the four of us met my sister and BIL, neice, and a coupel of friends for ice cream and then went back to their house to play the bubba rednacxk game and watch Clemson play Alabama. We got him super late soo.
Sunday- we skipped church and slept in. Then we try tried to teach our dgoa fetch and had fun with them outside for a LOOONG time. Then we just lazied around.
Monday- Brian went dove hunting with my BIL and so I chlled with my neice and sister at their house. Then I went home and took a nap and then my mom threw a labor day cookout/ birthday party for me last night. (tomorrows my bday) I did NOT want to come to work tonday...but at least it's a short week!!!
Ooh I'll have to try old time pottery.
We really like Southern Fried Green Tomatoes, in fact they catered our Easter dinner this year. Their broccoli casserole is to die for. The only thing I've found that I don't like there is their mashed potatoes. They are kinda bland.
How is your cat?
Oooh tell us about the house! Where was it? What's it like?
Friday: Dress shopping for a special occassion; dinner and quiet evening at home with DH
Saturday: Slept late (awwww), went to the Chiro, lunch at Red Robin's, shopping at Sandhills, matinee (don't go see Babylon AD), dinner at Ruth's Chris to celebrate our anniverary (high recommend but it is way expensive), home for some memories
Sunday: Slept late, pick up DD from her dad's, lunch with the family, shopping, rented movies and had leftovers while DD was on a date.
Monday: Slept late, shopping, pizza and a movie with the family.
Wow Vanessa, I was exhausted reading your post.
Friday: worked and just came home. No plans.
Saturday: Went to Charlotte to visit friends of DH we have't seen in 2 yrs.
Sunday: Went to church and then to my sister's for dinner
Monday: Nothing. My mom came by with my niece for a little while
She's doing better. They're having to run some more tests on her blood. They think she may have diabetes, but the vet said her blood sugar could have been high from stress. We'll find out soon.
