Daylilies

One of our daylilies has grown to be too large for the area it is in. Can they be separated into smaller plants like hostas can?

Yes, we got ours from my BIL last fall. I think you can jsut pull them apart after you dig them up (do it the same way you do hostas). Ours are back this spring/summer, so they survived :)

  • Definitely. Just dig them up and break the clump into as many pieces as you'd like. They split easily and don't typically mind the change. If they wilt after replanting, just water them a bit, they'll recover next year if not this season.
