How much would you pay for a 1st birthday cake?
Re: How much would you pay for a 1st birthday cake?
Very adorable cake!
However, I didn't even spend $200 on my wedding cake, so I do not think that I would spend that much. IMO- I think that a first birthday is very important, but he won't remember a thing about it. Why not wait to spend more money on a cake for his 6/7/8th birthday?
I would also try to find a friend or family member who could make a similar cake.
GL!
to answer the original question: yes, $200 is a lot for a one year old's birthday cake. personally, i wouldn't spend more than $50. it's a cake. for a one year old.
but the bottom line is it's your life and your money, so if you want to spend it on that cake then feel free.
well, I am also in the same boat as far as planning my son's 1st bday. we too are looking at a cake similar to yours but just 2 layers,. I actually got a quote for $120 for this cake which feeds 50 ppl so I think that your price is pretty reasonable, we are not using fondant and we are not using any fake layers.
I also agree with you too, we are doing alot of diy, we are having it in our backyard(free) and the menu is super cheap(making all of the food) and we are celebrating the wonderful first year with our new addition with family and friends and that is what our focus is, nothing else. so enjoy your child's first bday.
