DH and I just moved into our first place and are planning a housewarming party for about 30 or so people on a Saturday starting around 7PM.
Please give me your feedback on my menu ideas:
Assorted olives, nuts and cheeses
Baked brie w/ apples and walnuts
Hummus and pita chips
Platters of chicken and shrimp skewers
Caprese salad skewers
Farfalle Pesto Salad with Cherry Tomatoes and Pine Nuts
Sandwiches of some sort
Cookies and brownies
I was planning on serving wine, beer and a "signature drink" - any ideas are welcome!!
If any of you fellow nesties have thrown housewarming parties and have any particular suggestions, I would sincerely appreciate it!
Thank you!!
Re: Critique my housewarming menu!
Here are some ideas for a signature drink:

Everything sounds yummy tho!
You had me up until the pasta salad. I don't think that I would want to eat anything requiring a fork since most of your guests will likely be standing.
As far as a signature drink, DH made these for my birthday and they were great. Very clean and refreshing.
Cucumber Gimlet
Thanks so much!!
And after reading the comments and looking at the menu again, I will scrap the pasta salad and replace the caprese skewers w/ some sliced veggies. Better for the wallet and the waistline!
Thanks ladies!
I think you food and drink menu sounds great. Just one quick thing not to forget: crackers. For the cheese, and maybe dips. Have fun!
