Except it was at a no-name ice cream / sandwich shop and I did everything from scoop ice cream to flip burgers and bake bread to wait tables. And it was soft-serve. But it was actually fun. I started when I was 14 and worked there until I was 16 and old enough to work at the pool as a lifeguard.

leigha - was it as awful place to work as I've read?
hawki - ooh ice cream. I also used to fall bad for the girls at the local ice cream parlor b/c their arms were all bruised and banged up from the freezers.

Worked in the clothing dept. here selling t-shirts, leather jackets, boots and helmets.
That's right, ladies. I sold boat supplies!
They advertised in my high school's career counseling office so I called. They hired me right away. Besides, the town book store had hired some kid who was my age as their designated kid and I knew he's never leave it so I didn't have a chance.

Sales Associate at Macy*s. Not a great company to work for IMO. I hated it. My bosses were prick$.

Kmart - I worked there for 5 years during high school and then on my college breaks. They were actually a pretty good place to work for most of the time

Lol, Burlington Coat Factory.
I filed and did misc office work at a Science Materials Warehouse, where I often got hit on by creepy 30-40 yr olds in the office & warehouse. Eww! But it paid great, so I worked there part time for 5 years.
Local pizza shop with a video rental attached.
Hahaha...ok, ok...maybe I was just a lifeguard.
Not counting babysitting and mowing lawns. I worked at a grocery store for 5 years.
I worked at a grocery store too, but only for one summer.
This is reminding me of all the awful jobs I had in HS/first couple years of college. Between the ages of 14 and 20 I was...
and I was never fired from any of those jobs, I just hated most of them so much I could only do it so long. I think the shortest was McD's at 6 weeks, the longest was a lifeguard for 3 years but it was only summers.

I was a games girl at Knoebels (Mamie, you may be the only one who knows where that is!)
I know of Knoebels too! But only because of that one weird lady who plans to marry the amusement park ride there.
I had a few jobs that didn't last long enough to warrant a Google Image, but included working at a car wash at 14, a children's librarian gig at 15, a summer of construction at 18, and a variety of gigs at fundraisers and parties hosting carnival-type games. The two that I held longest in high school were:
and
My first adult job was:
Ha, I sure do!
Knoebels!

I know it too! But I didn't know a lady wanted to marry a ride. crazy
Yeah, I didn't know about that either. I saw a few people get married there, but not to a ride. Then again, I spent 6 years there so I did see some strange stuff!
I quit after they made me work returns the day after Christmas. I cried, like, four times that day because of people (with no receipts) yelling at me.
These were hilarious! Great idea!
My first job = I was 15, a receptionist at a hair salon. My first 'real' job was a waitress at Carrabba's when I was 18.
