My clematis aren't blooming, help

They're growing plenty of leaves but not flowers yet, they're well watered, enough sun I think, and fertilized them the other day.  Thoughts?

  • I don't have any pics here, but one is the Jackmanii and I'm not sure what the other is, it's white and from my mom's garden, where it always bloomed.

  • I'm in MD and my clemetis had two blooms on it this year and it looks like its done for the season.

I planted it last year where it only had 1 bloom.

It might just be coping with the transplant and will bloom more next year

  • my dad told me I shouldn't expect blooms this first year.  I didn't put mine in full sun so that's not helping either.
