xp: can anyone recommend an affordable oceanfront hotel in Seaside?

I was thinking of trying to surprise DH this summer with a night in Seaside for his birthday.  I'm doing a google search to check out what there is and what the prices are, but I was hoping to get some recommendations so I don't end up booking some place we wouldn't want to stay just because they are reasonably priced.  Thanks ladies!

  • When we go out of town we always find places on Craigslist.  You can find good prices and some nice homes rented out by the individual owners, IMO more "homey" better than a hotel.

  • I responded this morning but I think my post never showed up. We stayed at the Shilo Inn Suites right on the beach one time. Great location, good parking, decent pool. The room was a bit outdated but clean and it had a kitchen and little dining table and chairs. The teeny balcony was inhabited with pigeons. Still a pretty good stay for us.
  • Never mind me! I realize I responded on the Oregon Babies post not this one ;).
