I read that you are making your first fondant cake this weekend, you HAVE to post pics/tell me how it goes. I did this last weekend, and it was quite the experience.
Roll it crazy thin, we did 1/4" and it was still too thick! GL!

Oh and really coat your rolling service with powdered sugar or corn starch. Our fondant was sticking like no other.
What recipe are you using? My recipe called for 2 lbs marshmallow to 4 lbs of powdered sugar, that was a joy to mix

Once you are all done get your hands slightly wet and do a light rubbing over the fondant, it will make it all glossy.
And be sure to do a butter cream layer inbetween the cake and fondant
