may be relocating to New Hampshire

hello NH nesties! i am a Nashville, former Detroit girl, and now may be relocating to NH! i was hoping you could give me some info on areas around the town/city of Bedford. that is where the company is located that my husband has been interviewing with. we were just wondering what areas would be good to live in, what kind of activities there are in the area. i am hoping to narrow our choices down for when we come up for a homefinding trip (sounds very likely that may happen in the next week). if you don't mind, please let me know!!!

 Thank you in advance!

Tiffany

Re: may be relocating to New Hampshire

  • Ooh, welcome to NH (a little early)!  My DHs sister lives in TN, but not close to you at all (Oak Ridge).

Many of us live in the general area where your husband will be working and will be happy to help you out with whatever we can!

Bedford is a great town, from what I know of it, and it is very close to the city of Manchester.  Nashua is another city that is also not far away (a little further south - right on the border with MA) and that's where I am!  There are many options for city or country settings to live in, it depends on what you prefer.  I am sure that you will find something to fit in with what you like here, though!

I hope you enjoy your upcoming visit and I know that you will LOVE living here!!

  • First off, Congrats to your husband on his new job.  Bedford is a beautiful town.  I love it there.  It can be a bit on the pricey side when it comes to houses.  There is alot of new construction and property taxes will be heading upward because of the new schools that were just built last year.  Other towns right next door to Bedford that may be worth a look are Goffstown and Merrimack.  If you like a more "city" vibe you may want to check out Nashua and Manchester.

  • Hi! A great resource that I used to find our house was nneren.com. It's a great site.

Bedford is a really nice area. We would have looked for houses there, except it would have been way too far of a commute for me. GL!

  • Best of luck to your husband!

We live in Milford, which is just 2 towns away from Bedford.  We love living in Milford!  Its a very easy ride into Bedford.  Between Milford and Bedford is Amherst, another great town.

The RE site previously mentioned, NNEREN.com, shows you maps of each county so that you can get an idea of what other towns are in the Bedford area.

  • thank you so much to all of you! we are definitely looking into all of these options! we don't know for sure yet if he got the job but he was told he was one of the top candidates, so we're keeping our fingers crossed. hopefully i'll be a NH nestie with all of you soon :)
