What do you do if you have a really bad stain in the carpet. We are steam cleaning the carpets in our new house and we pre-treated some of the stains with Resolve and tried to scrub and then steam cleaned over it and there are still some stains. Anyone have any thoughts?
If it matters, we think the stain may be from like at home hair dye because the sellers had left a bag of stuff in one of the bedrooms and it had hair dye on top.

Re: Carpet cleaner?
I'd actually try getting the carpet cleaned.. I used K&M when I had the same problem, and they got that stain OUT! I was shocked. I thought it was permanent.
One of the guys explained it to me - he was saying soaps like resolve will usually actually end up spreading the stain and picking up more dirt, and that it acts as an adhesive for dirt floating around on pets, shoes, etc. Made sense to me at the time.:) He actually recommended using a vinegar/water solution instead of the soap.
