Anybody have a pulled pork recipe
Hello Ladies. I am from CA and I am having a luau for my sister's graduation party and we cant afford to get a whole pig so we are having pulled pork. Does anybody have a good pulled pork recipe. Thanks in advance.
Re: Anybody have a pulled pork recipe
I use the recipe below for Kalua, in a slow cooker instead of the oven. I set it on Low in the morning, and shred it when I get home from work. My supermarket doesn't carry Hawaiian sea salt, but I found some at Whole Foods. HTH!

if you are looking for pulled pork, here is the recipe i use
Pulled Pork (From: Allrecipes)Place the pork tenderloin in a slow cooker, put any seasonings you want on, and onion rings over the top, then pour the root beer over the meat.
Cover and cook on low until well cooked and the pork shreds easily, 6 to 7 hours (I did 8 hours, and BBQ sauce for 1 1/2 hours.)
Drain well. Stir in barbecue sauce. Serve over hamburger buns.

Here's the pulled pork recipe I use - it's super easy.
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/BBQ-Pork-for-Sandwiches/Detail.aspx - I use less broth; probably also depends on how lean your cut of meat is. This recipe calls for pork ribs but I always use the cheapest cut of meat I can find (shoulder) since it cooks for so long.
but he likes this one. It's super easy and makes more than enough for the pork recipe above, keeps for a long time (several months) in fridge. You could also just use store-bought.
I also make our own bbq sauce - http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Big-Als-KC-Bar-B-Q-Sauce/Detail.aspx - MH is from Kansas and is particular about his sauce
