Celtic-Lakers

I think it's going to happen!
Life's a beach!

Re: Celtic-Lakers

  • Sadly, I think you're right (Magic fan here Crying)

  • Sadly, I think it'll happen, too. I'm tired of seeing the Lakers in the finals, and I was really hoping for a different match-up.

After the first round, the playoffs got boring for me. I pretty much quit watching.

  • Celtic's fan here. I am sure the rest of the country gets a little tired of this matchup, even if the rivalry has only been renewed in the last few years after a loooong hiatus. The networks love it, of course, for the ratings and the storylines on the all the history (guaranty you will be seeing the clip of McHale clotheslining Rambis for old times). But I imagine fans of teams that rarely even make the playoffs get tired of seeing the same names on the dance card (like Red Sox/Yankees and I'm blanking on an NFL equivalent).

As a Celtics fan, I am glad we will (likely) be playing the Lakers and I think we will match up well with them. If we win this title (I say "we" like I will be lacing up the sneaks, ha), we will have gone through the 3 best teams in the league to do it (Cavs, Magic, Lakers) and, arguably, the 3 best players in the league (Lebron, Howard and Kobe), which would make the win all the sweeter.  Ubuntu!

I feel bad for Magic fans at this point. Their team has completely quit.  I hope for their sake the series just ends tonight.

  • We'll see.   The Lakers broke Steve Nash's nose and now we're fired up.  Go Suns!
  • Well, i'm still holding out for the Magic to win tonight =/

I haven't paid attn to the Lakers/Suns games.

  • A nail-biter to the end. I kept thinking the Celts would pull ahead, but their shots would just not go in the basket.  Glad to see the Magic still has that fighting spirit.  Now I hope the Celts squash them like a bug next game - no offense! Big Smile

  • I'm new to this board ( and I hope yall dont mind me jumping right in) but I hope the Celtics win tonights game and finish this series off.  The Suns however are giving the Lakers a run for their money!  My DH is an EXTREME Lakers fun and it would be awesome to have the Lakers/Celtics rivalry going on in the house, but it would also be nice to see his team crushed and not make it to the finals! :) I'm evil I know.
