XP: What would you call this party?

My mom wants to throw a party on the one year anniversary of my cardiac arrest (this upcoming August).   It would just be a casual get together (grilling out, etc) with family and friends.   We were discussing today what we should call the party/write on the invites.    I'd feel more comfortable downplaying the whole "I died last year, but was brought back to life" aspect of it....that seems morbid.    My mom's suggested something along the lines of "Celebrate Life."    That's the best idea we have so far.   Thoughts? Suggestions?   Is it weird to have a party like this?

Thanks for any ideas!

Re: XP: What would you call this party?

  • I had a party on my one-year brain-tumor removal date -- called it my tumorversary. It happened to be around Halloween, so I made it fun (IMO!) and macabre. I wanted to make light of my very scary situation and combine my love of Halloween. But that's my personality.

I think this is a great idea, but I don't have clever names offhand.

LOL at "tumorversary"!    I need to come up with a cardiac version of that.  CardiacArrestaversary?     Hmmm....I need to brainstorm!

Congrats on your happy ending!    Being alive is awesome, isn't it?   Nothing like a serious health issue to make you realize that!

  • What about something corny like "Home is where the heart is" ? I dont even know if that makes sense!

Or DH said "a heart-y party". lol
