2010 Sunscreen from EWG

Bonus for us we got Bager and some Mexitan this year which are both on the good list.

Bad, I didn't read the back of the mexitan and apparently it only lasts for 40 min...boooo we didn't even get on the boat yet after applying and it "wasn't there".

Poor DH is FRIED.  (but it's his own fault for only doing his back and not his legs, arms or front...and I did his back).  I'd lvoe to hear rec's for a "hair" sunscreen if you have them.  I just rubbed the mexitan in Dh's hair...haha he didn't appricate it.

 

My forehead is burnt but otherwise I'm good.  I think it's my own fault though for not re applying more badger sooner to my face, my body on the other hand besides my forearm nothing is burned.  I stayed covered up most of the day and only took it off to go swimming (which I didn't end up in the water but forgot to put my hat back on...oh well...hence my burnt forhead.

 

What brands are you guys using this summer?  We have some All Terrian this year too for bug spray and some skeetattle for us and the dog.

Oy...sunscreen is complicated!! Thanks for posting this. I'm really wanting to start being good about using sunscreen (I'm not, at all, don't even own any), but all the chemicals freak me out!

Thanks for posting this too.  I'm still using the cheap sunscreen from the grocery store since I don't wear it very often.   I know I need to buy a better product.

i bought an alba sunscreen to try this summer, haven't used it yet though...going to check out that list now!

I bought both CA Baby and Carribean Solutions Sol Kid Kare. So far I've used the Carribean more because I like the feel and smell better than CA Baby. I wear it everyday on my face/neck, but haven't really put it to the test yet for serious exposure.

I use California Baby (stick and lotion) on my daughter and myself - although I'd use the quick-spray old coppertone on myself if needed (very fair skin).  DH loves his spray coppertone.  I haven't checked more closely to see if there are better spray options.

thanks for posting. great site!!! and list. I just recently got the burt's bees one and I see it's rated a 4. I think mostly cause of the fragrance. but can't be sure.
