Why won't it go away!

Preggie Pops, saltines, toast, decaf green tea, water...you name it, I'm trying it.  Well, almost anything I guess. I've got morning sickness and it seems like it's 24/7. I feel the knot in my stomach and in my throat all day long. I'm dry heaving, but nothing comes up. My head feels like it's going to explode and like it's in a bubble.

I could sure use one of those sleep rooms like DH has in his office.Ick!

Re: Why won't it go away!

  • have you tried anything mint-y? Peppermint or spearmint worked wonders for me. Also, if you can stomach it, get some black licorice(straws, jelly beans...whatever!), that helped me too....and now I love any black licorice flavored candy. LOL.

I'm sorry it's so bad...but it will likely pass! Hopefully you'll just wake up one morning and realize you haven't been sick!

  • Can you stomach some fruit?  Watermelon, nectarines, and apples were my favorites.

Altoids makes sour tangerine candies, and those worked for me too sometimes.

Hang on BabyCakes!  I hope the MS passes soon and you'll be feeling better in no time.

  • Fruits have been my snack throughout the day.  Today I had nectarines and grapes. My preggie pops are sour fruit flavored. I am not a fan at all of licorice, so I'm afraid that will just make me more sick.  I will try mints though.

    Thank you!

  • Oh yeah, can you nibble on gum?
  • I 2nd the mints. I used to suck on starlite mints all the time when I had MS.  Also, Diet Coke, and fresh fruit worked for me.

I hope you feel better soon!!!

  • I feel you, constant nausea all day every day.  It hit the day I finished my 6th week.  Sometimes ginger flavored stuff helps, candied ginger, gingerale and ginger snaps are sometimes the only thing I'll eat all day when I get really bad.  I also can't eat anything without drinking a 7up.  That helps me get the trapped burps up and makes me feel better.  I guess it's just part of the territory. :(

  • Trader Joes sells these ginger candy chews.  They are from the Ginger People company in a little green bag.

My friends when pregnant swore by these things to take the nausea away.

I ate tons of them and lived on them when I was having my long gallbladder disease and constantly vomitting.

    They did help.

But nausea really affects people differently.  Ginger was my helpful trick.

  • Salt works for me-potato chips, top ramen, etc.

Oh yeah, and diet coke!  7-up just makes me feel worse.

Married 6/20/06~Mommy to 2 beautiful girls
  • ginger ale, saltines, red vines, and  sea sick bands.

My cousin has been on fluids (major dehydration from m/s) since week 6 and swears that the sea bands help alot. (she's also on a med but not sure what it is) That being said, she still vomits 1-11 times per day. I feel soooo freakin' bad for her!

    Hang in there!
