homemade recipes?

several recipes i see include mixing baking soda and vinegar. how are you doing this? doesn't this create a foaming mess? what am i not getting?

  • It doesn't make a mess. I think it is quantity of it. I thought the same thing at first. Just play around with it, it is kinda fun. If you have little kids... it would be awesome. My cat... doesn't like it.

  • I've only used baking soda and vinegar to clean out a clogged drain, where the foaming action was a good thing.

  • I'm assuming you mean cleaning recipes not cooking recipes, right? You would use that mix for something that benefits by fizzing, like cleaning a drain or loosening grime in a tub. For general cleaning, that is not a winning combination. I talk about green cleaning in my blog. Here are some tagged entries.
