DH and I are probably going to throw a party here in a few weeks. We're going to have an "alcohol tasting party." (DH thought a "wine tasting" party is too froo-froo, but a beer tasting party would be strange...so I suggested an "alcohol tasting party," and he thought that would be fun.)
My thought is that we'll have an area set up for wine tasting (with cheese and/or chocolate pairings) and an area set up for beer tasting (again, with chocolate pairings). What would you do for the "other" alcohol? Should we just set out different liquors and mixers and let people make their own things? (I could set out a few recipes as suggestions.) Or should I actually make those drinks for people (like a pitcher of margaritas or mojitos or something)?
(Oh, and yes....we'll definitely have food, too, so that people aren't just drinking a bunch of alcohol on an empty stomach!)

Re: Drink menu question
I would do 2-3 of each kind (wine, beer, and then make the cocktails ahead and keep in pitchers). That way the liquor wont be gone so quickly, and you will be the one who is in control of how much of it is being drank.
Maybe have a theme, italian, mexican, etc. And pick wine/beer/cocktail according to the type of food
Sounds like fun!
i like kellies idea of a theme and then you could preparre/buy food according to theme
also i like the idea of having the liquor already made up in the drinks that would fit the them
and if i didnt do the premade drinks i would def get some recipes and what is needed for the recipes instead of just liquor and mixers.
