Recommend a good OB in Chicago.

So i'm posting this for a friend of mine, who just told me yesterday she is in need of a new ob.       She has always been pretty private, but I had a big feeling she was trying or has been trying to have a baby for some time .  Yesterday she got choked up at my shower and said she almost didnt come because she believes she had a miscarriage a month ago and is so upset.   She said her ob is not compassionate at all, her periods are very irregular so i'm guessing by the time she went to the ob her pregnancy hormone level was pretty non existent so supposebly the doctor couldnt say if it was a miscarriage or not.

Can anybody suggest a good , female ob , that is compassionate and takes the time to listen that can possibly help her.   She lives in the city so that would work for her.             Thanks everyone

Re: Recommend a good OB in Chicago.

  • While I don't go to her, I have many friends that do (including ones who have had difficulty getting pregnant)- Dr. Mia Song at Association for Women's Health.

I go to Dr. Melissa Auger at NMPG- she is also awesome and laid back (not sure if that is something your friend would want).

  • Progressive Care For Women on St. Claire street (just east of mich. ave) is great.  There are 4 doctors (all very easy going and laid back) there and you pick one while rotating through all of them (just in case your doctor doesnt deliver).  I had a very good experience with them.  They also do minor infertility work ups and use clomid if a patient is having some initial problems.  They only go to a certain point though, then they recommend you go to an Infertility Clinic.

  • Any of the dr's at Chicago Women's Health Group are fantastic.  They are associated with Northwestern and are located right next to Prentice which is very convenient when a baby decides to come!  I see DiPasquale and love her, but throughout my pregnancy I got to see all of the doctors and there isn't one that I don't like (there is only 1 male in the practice)
