Clematis is somewhat rocky soil?

Last year we had a landscaper dig some huge stumps and a bunch of decorative rock out of our foundation bed.  He also added dirt to correct the drainage.

I was digging to plant some things today and have found that there is still some rock buried in the bed.  I want to put a clematis (Fireworks, if it makes a difference) in a certain spot.  I have dug out some of the rocks, but it will be nearly impossible to get them all out now that the soil has been added on top.  Will my clematis do okay there still?  All other conditions are good for clematis in this spot.
