Intro!

Hey everyone, I'm new to this board and not so sure why it's taken me this long to venture over. Life-long sports fan used to heartache and disappointment (I'm a Mets fan).

Um...what to tell? I'm a New Jersey native who's lived across the country and most recently transplanted to South Texas in Sept. I'm a Mets, Dolphins, Devils, Pittsburgh Panthers & Tennessee Volunteers fan. My husband is a Chicago native so by default I kind of like those teams too (for the record: White Sox, not Cubs!)

I look forward to chatting with you all, feel free to ask any questions.

  • Not a fan of basketball? (you don't mention a team.)

  • NBA, no. College, yes.

  • Well I am fully focused on my Celtics' playoff run on the way to banner #18 currently, with the occasionaly glance at the nightly BoSox game for a distraction, since the Bruins' playoff run derailed a couple weeks ago and I don't follow preseason football.

I hope you Mets fans are enjoying Jason Bay. He's a great guy and great player.

  • I'm new too.  I just wanted to jump into this post instead of making my own.  I am a born and raised Texan so I love the Cowboys & Texas Longhorns.  My heart is in Boston though, I love love love the Celtics and Red Sox.  I hope to be around more.

  • Laura, what did Boston do to earn your heart? Did you relocate there? I am a born & raised New Englander thus my irrational devotion to those teams. But I do maintain respect for good teams run by good ownership/management.  And you will be wikked jealous to know I go to at least one Celts game a year using a friend's awesome season tix.

  • Yay for new faces!

I love me some BoSox...the beginning of the season was rough, but it looks like they're bouncing back. I'm a Thunder and Mavs fan with baskeball though. :)

No relocating for me.  I still live in Texas (and will probably always live here).  I just like those teams for some strange reason, and they've had my heart for a good 7 or so years.  I went to see the Celtics and Mavs play in Dallas in March.  It was a birthday gift from my BIL and it was AWESOME!!!  We are going to see the Red Sox play in Dallas against the Rangers in August so I'm excited for that as well.  My dream is to see the "Green Monster" and the famous wooden bball court in person.  One day. One day. :)

Tix to Fenway are expensive & hard to come by these days. But take heart in that you can go on a tour of the park almost year round. It has become the hot tourist attraction. You just need an excuse to get to Beantown.
