Ok, I need some help....

One of my BFF's is getting married this Oct. & having the big traditional wedding (not my style being a DW bride).

Anway, I need some ideas for games for her shower. I don't want to do anything typical and/or cheesy. I don't want to do the average bridal bingo either. Does anyone have any fun ideas?

Also, I am going to be planning her bach party for september. She doesn't drink anymore (and hasn't for 3 years now) so she said she justs wants to go out to dinner & then go bowling.

I want to surprise her & do something different. I'm thinking like a 50's themed, breakfast at Tiffany's type deal where everyone where's black, but have her wear red or white or something. I want to knock her sox off! (she's a very hard person to surprise)

I really wanted to focus on the details too & stick with the theme.

Does anyone know where I can get ideas for this type of thing? I wanted to do some sort of scavenger hunt type game throughout the night too, but don't know where to find ideas for this either.

Can anyone help?

  • I wish you were my BFF when I had my shower and bach party!!

I think those sound awesome, when I helped with my friends shower, I just googled bridal shower games and found a ton of fun and different ones.

For the bach party, I think a tiffanies theme would be really cool.  You could have everyone wear black and pearls and have her wear white and give her some pearls (obv fake lol) and get big hats and maybe make a tiffanys blue colored punch?

Let me see what I can find!

I don't know how common these are, I haven't been to a lot of showers but:

at mine we played something like He Said / She Said. One of my friends asked Ted a bunch of questions & wrote down his answers. Then at my shower she asked me the same questions, and if I got an answer wrong then I had to put a piece of Bubblicious bubble gum in my mouth. I think there were 20 questions, and I answered 6 incorrectly. lol. It was interesting. & the questions can be about anything! People seemed to like that game.

I know we played 3 games, but I can't remember what they all were now! I think one was bridal bingo. I think the other one was a bridal word scramble.

I think that's a FANTASTIC idea! I'm not really any help with resources, but I think that's a really fun idea.

I did find this while searching around:

  • my friend bought a bunch of scrapbooking stuff and had each table go through magazines and put together a scrapbook page using a list of words she put together related to us or our wedding...kind of like a scrapbook scavenger hunt lol.

i can't remember now what the other games were.  I'll ask her.  She also hadn't wanted to do anything cheesy or overdone.

  • I'm glad you posted this to give me ideas too.  One of my besties is getting married next summer.  I'm a bridesmaid and she wants me to plan the b-ette party.  I may be preggers by then so thank goodness she already told me no "meat market" bar hopping!
  • is it a couple's shower, or all girls? for my bachelorette party, my girlfriends had gone to my house and interviewed kyle - asking him a ton of questions about our first day, who my prom date was, etc etc and they played it for me. for each question, they would pause it, and i would have to answer and then they would play his answer. similar to what one of the nesties posted above, but it was video and i didn't have to stick gum in my mouth. but it was really cute, and such a nice surprise to have him "drop in" on my bachelorette party, via video.
  • the bubble game is hilarious...I have done it at every shower I have hosted (coed and all girls) and everyone loved it.
