Would this look too weird?

We recently got a great deal on some Queen Palms, so there are 6 of them in our yard. But, I also want to add some kind of tree that will provide fall color (like a maple).

I'm wondering if a maple would look strange with the palm trees.  They kind of seem like contradictions to me... what do you think?

  • Hmm... yes, it sounds a little strange to me!! I think I'd head to a good nursery for ideas.

Not really. Maples and palms grow side by side in a lot of natural settings. But by all means, check out other options. Maybe Sourwood, Parrotia, or Chinese Pistache would work well where you are, and they all have great fall color.
