Noooooo! Red Ring of Death...
For any of you who have an xbox 360...you know what I mean. DH is uber pissed off. First the sound on our TV quit last week. Now the xbox is dead. We're not having very good luck here. WTF?

Re: Noooooo! Red Ring of Death...
Uh oh! I hope this doesn't happen to us... xbox is the only thing that keeps DH busy while I watch my chick shows (aka Glee).
Do you think it's fixable?
My brother fixed it by wrapping a towel around it. I would suggest getting a surge protector.
We had it plugged into a Monster power strip/surge protecto, so I don't think that was it.
After lots of cursing, DH finally entered the serial number into the website, and they had extended our one-year warranty to three-year, so it's going to be repaired for free. Phew.
It was pretty funny when I walked into UPS with it this morning. I had it in a bag, and I was looking at their shipping supplies trying to find the right sized box. UPS dude asked me what I needed, and I pulled out the xbox. He said, "Oh, three red lights of doom, eh? You don't need any of those boxes. Microsoft supplies us with special shipping supplies for these. You're the first today, but I guarantee there will be 4 more."
Ummm...pretty sure you've got major issues there, xbox, if you automatically supply UPS with the shipping stuff needed to fix all your machines!
Not a fun thing to replace. You and I are having the same luck. Our PS3 went out week before last and then the pixels on our TV did too. If nothing else, he might be able to sell it back to gamestop or EB games for more than he would get elsewhere. They'll just deduct the fee to fix it.
ETA - Whoops, I didn't read the responses before I posted.
