This is random

Last night I bought a case of wine from my local shop.  Whenever we leave with a purchase, the wine shop guy says "Enjoy!"  I love that he says that.

Re: This is random

  • Ha.  That is funny.  Like there was ever a chance that you wouldn't enjoy it.

  • We got a mixed case of dry reds.  They come from all over the world (Italy, France, South Africa, Chile, California, maybe Spain and Washington, too).

The most expensive bottle was $40 and is a 2005 Chateauneuf de Pape from France.

  • Ha ha, I like that.  :-)

Random - power was out at work this morning, and my CW called to let me know on my way in.  I turned around to work from home.  Then, while still chatting with CW, she got an email that power was restored, so I turned around again and am now at work with power.

  • That's funny, Juli.
  • I wish I liked wine - I need to work on that :)

Have you been wine tasting at any of the wineries in MI?  That is what really got me into it.  You get to try a lot of different things and learn what you like.

One of my favorite things about wine is the story.  I love how someone tended and picked the grapes, processed them, fermented them, bottled the wine and here it is for me to drink.  I love the aging, even if it's only a year or two.  It is like tasting another time and place.

No, I have never had the chance or someone to go with (DH hates wine).  Now that I have a friend that moved to town that likes wine, we will have to make it a point to go.  Any recs on localish wineries?

I think we should have a wine party this summer.

Black Star Farms up in TC is my favorite!

We are going with some friends something this summer for wine tasting again.  I LOVE it.

Speaking of wine tasting, I went to Cascade Winery the other day to taste and they have Pasta dinners every Friday night or they have wine and chocolate events every so often. They have one this Saturday night. I wanted to go but TH sees no point in going wine taste as place that isn't actually at the vineyards. He doesn't want to go to wine tasting rooms.  Confused

So rather than just to go and have fun, we have to go to a place that meets his standards and who knows how long that will be before we can go up north or down to Berrien springs area. So I say screw him and lets go as a group some time.

I don't think he will do the wine and chocolate nights for a while since we will be doin some remodeling work during the summer.

  • I still think a wine GNO would be a blast. :-)  It seems like it's been awhile since the last GNO too.
