Unruly neighbors
We just moved into our first home and it turns out our neighbors are awful! They have tacky decorations in their backyard, they're loud and they never even welcomed us to the neighborhood.
I am SO disappointed that after all of our househunting we are stuck living next to these awful people. Can we put up a higher fence on the side of our house bordering them, or is that too rude? I just don't even want to look at them.

What do you consider tacky decorations?
As far as a higher fence, check with the town because there can be restrictions.
Loud neighbors are normal. If they're loud as far as staying rowdy past a certain time, you can call the cops. Again check with your towns limitations.
As far as not welcoming you into the neighborhood then I guess I suck because we weren't able to attend a welcoming party thrown by our newest neighbors.

But she didn't say yard clutter. She said tacky decorations... Tacky like pink flamingos?? She still needs to check with the town to see if the fence needs to be a certain height.
What about introducing yourself to your new neighbors?
Nothing. I have a load of pink flamingos. Just trying to get her version of tacky. *puts on pink flamingo costume, continues editing the hundreds of pictures*

Dee is right there is laws on how high a fence can be as well as you need your land surveyed in order to put up any fence/post even invisible fences.
Why not go over introduce yourselves?
What is Tacky? Everyone is not always going to have the same style.
When are they being loud? check with your town on when they can have noise or not. if it is because it is memorial day weekend I would say nothing honestly, why not go over now and introduce yourselves?
