I got a call earlier in the week from a school in Alabama that wants to interview me for a teaching position. They asked when I could come and I said WHENEVER U WANT ME!! They laughed because they knew I was in Florida. They asked if I could be there on Thursday and I said yes. I drove 9 hrs yesterday and my interview is today at 1. Wish me luck!! I pray that I get the job, esp. since I drove 9 hrs to get an interview. I hope that shows that I am REALLY serious about this. I have no experience though and I am straight out of college, it's REALLY hard to land a teaching job in this particular county but I usually do well on interviews. PRAY FOR ME!!! I am soooo nervous!!!

If my time zone memory is serving me right, you're probably interviewing now! Let us know how it goes! Way to go being willing to drive out there to give it a shot!

Ok i went to the interview and he told me he had interviewed about 30 people and he already had someone from his school who really wants the position and he feels obligated to give it to them, plus he said its hard because i dont have a lot of experience
he REALLY liked me though and we talked for an hour (even though it was supposed to be a 15 min interview). He told me that there's 6 title II positions open for next year, its the same as a teaching position but I'm only contracted for a year. He said its a good way for me to get my foot in the door and he wanted to recommend me. He says I will be interviewed for 15 minutes next week and all 12 principals from the county will be there!!! I AM SO NERVOUS!! so now I have to stay here and go to that interview and someone be able to tell my boss back home that I wont be working next week (it was my last week too, I put in my notice a few weeks ago)
Although I'm bummed because I don't think he will hire me for this position, I am just glad that he really liked me and wants to refer me to something to get my foot in the door. It's really hard to get a job in this county and u gotta know someone. I don't know anyone, and I feel like I might have a chance now!!

See? We all knew you'd do great! And we know you'll do great the second time too. Listen to us, for we were right the first time: you'll blow them away next week! No need for nerves!!!
I know it's a lot of driving, but why not just go home and drive back for the next round of interviews?
WOO!!!
