Bush bean and corn seedlings up!

Woot!  Last I checked, 10 of the 14 corn seedlings were up and possibly 2 about to make an appearance.  I have to get out there today to look.  Once they're to 6" in height I'll plant the pole bean and climbing cukes.

And the beans are crazy.  Five rows of strong healthy bush bean seedlings.  I think all of the seeds germinated.  It's exciting.  Some are snap, some are shell.  I'm looking forward to lots of summer stir fries with the snap beans and winter soups with the shell beans.

And I think I figured out my pea dilemma. Looking at the leaf shape, I think they were the sugar snap peas that didn't germinate well.  I possibly planted too deep?  I'm going to wait a bit more to confirm and then do a 2nd planting.

  • How fun! That's too bad about the sugar snap peas. Those are yummy! I want to grow those, and English peas, but I think it might be too late this year, especially since I haven't seen any starts for sale!
