So when I went to get into bed last night I realized one of my beautiful pearl/diamond studs DH bought me as a wedding gift was gone! I have only worn them a handful of times and chose to wear them yesterday with my pearl necklace. I never lose jewelry so I am in shock. I have looked in our room around the bed and on our dresser, in the living room and bathroom....nothing! I have searched my whole office, gym bag etc. and still no luck. I have no idea when or where I lost it. I had Zumba yesterday at lunch at campus rec so I am going to go over there today to see if it's there or if it was turned in.
I haven't told DH yet, because I know he will be really upset. He specifically took my grandmother's pearl necklace she had given me for the wedding into the jeweler's to match it to the earrings, my Mom had made a big deal when the Best Man gave them to me saying DH was so excited about them and had called her multiple times before buying them.
I am going to continue to look everywhere I can think of but I don't know if I should tell him. My co-worker suggested buying a new pair and not telling him, I don't know how I feel about that. Plus he bought them in the States so it wouldn't be that easy to replace them. I feel like he will be really hurt and disappointed even though it was an accident. I am so devastated, I keep crying! What would you ladies do?
Re: WWYD? *Edit: Found It*
That sucks, I'm sorry. I'd just tell him though. I'm sure he'll be upset, but it's not as though you would intentionally lose an earring, much less this earring. Accidents happen.
I hope it turns up!

I would look in all of the last few places you have left, then tell him. Yes, it will suck. I think him knowing how much you've already tried looking and have been distraught over the loss will help him realize that it certainly wasn't intentional.
By going and getting a replacement, you are running a huge risk of him finding out later and being much more upset.
Like Emily said, accidents happen.
Good luck!
Tell him and keep looking. He'll be more hurt if you don't tell him and he finds out later.
DH's grandmother gave me a pair of diamond earrings for Christmas and I lost one of them the week after the wedding. I told DH and he helped me look, and when we told her she wasn't upset at all and said these things happen. But I still felt (and feel) awful!
Being honest is always the best thing. It saves you from a lot of problems down the road!
I know, I have never kept anything from him so that really wasn't my plan. He is not an overly sentimental person so I feel awful that this was something that he was so excited and proud of then I lose them!
I went to lost & found at the gym, and have looked all through my Department still no luck!
