One more resume question...anyone with good grammar come in!

Ok, last question - I think.

I am not sure how to phrase the description of my current job.  Some of the things are things I did and do not do currently (like developed a program), some of the things are ongoing.  Right now, the paragraph is in both past and present tense but that sounds stupid.  Here it is:

Teach second year Advanced Analytical Skills course and first year skills workshops; developed and taught third year bar preparation workshop; developed and implemented program for first year students in need of academic assistance; provide individual writing assistance and counseling to first, second and third year students; perform academic support data collection and analysis; hire and supervise Dean's Scholars; created Academic Support TWEN pages for first year students, January class and Bar preparation; implemented paperless Dean?s Scholar system for archived materials.

I can switch it to all past tense, but then it will looke like I don't do these things anymore.  Or should I just restructure it so that everything that is present tense is first, and all the past tense things are after?  What do I do?

  • Here is how it would look reorganized:

Teach second year Advanced Analytical Skills course and first year skills workshops; provide individual writing assistance and counseling to first, second and third year students; perform academic support data collection and analysis; hire and supervise Dean's Scholars; developed and taught third year bar preparation workshop; developed and implemented program for first year students in need of academic assistance; created Academic Support TWEN pages for first year students, January class and Bar preparation; implemented paperless Dean?s Scholar system for archived materials.

The reorganized present-then-past tense is better. GL!

  • I would ask on 9 to 5 or Money Matters -- there are some recruiters and such that hang around there.  I don't think it is a grammar question so much as a proper protocol/common practice question.

It should be "first-year", "second-year" etc. though, right?
