Best town for families near Statesville?
I'm so excited! We live in Massachusetts but are eager to move NC - we've been talking about it for years. My husband just has an excellent job interview with a company in Statesville and I was wondering if you could give any recommendations on towns/areas to live.
The perfect place for us would be family-friendly, close to shopping (big plus)/ restaurants/stuff to do - we're NASCAR fans - but still has that small-town feel. My husband likes to have a 15-20 minute drive to/from work to "clear his head", so we don't have to live in Statesville. We have some family in Mooresville & Cleveland NC.
Any ideas would be great! Thanks so much!
Re: Best town for families near Statesville?
Statesville is pretty void of shopping, restaurants, things to do. If you are looking for that type of thing, Mooresville is definitely, definitely the place to be for that. As Im sure you already know though, with family in that area, brace yourself for the infamous Mooresville congestion, it's awful. DH and I love Mooresville (his grandmother lives there), we would have looked at homes there, but there is no way I could put up with all the traffic.
Statesville blows. I work here and it's just awful.... We live down in Davidson and LOOOVE it!!! Anywhere south of Mooresville is MUCH better. But... traffic in Mooresville sucks. I periodically drive down to Mooresville just to get Panera or Jimmy Johns for lunch (so that should tell you the lack of lunch choices here)
Dittoing Huntersville, Davidson or Cornelius.
Statesville sux-I'm sorry if I've offended anyone that lives there.
I live in Charlotte but work in the University area and have had coworkers that commute from Statesville.
We live in Denver, which is close to Mooresville - I agree, unless you want to live in rural Mooresville, I'd steer clear of living, and just go for shopping
I work in Davidson and it's a lovely town! Be prepared for Mecklenburg Co. property taxes though!
