Religious Plant

Ok, so I had no other idea how to title that to get your attention.  My neighbors and former pastors are moving.  They are avid gardeners.  I would love to give them either an indoor or outdoor plant for thier new home. 

 Here's your challenge- I know many flowers and plants can represent "change" "new beginnings" "new life" etc... If you could find one that was referenced in the Bible, even better!

 I know this is a tall order so many, many, TIA!

hmm, well being as though the bible is set in the middle east, I doubt you'll find anything referenced in there that will work. 

On the other hand, some flowers associated with christianity are the Easter Lily and the dogwood. The four petals of the dogwood are supposed to represent the cross and the red markings on the tips are supposed to symbolize the wounds of Christ.

That's all I've got off the top of my head.

Crown of thorns is actually a really pretty plant so long as you don't prick yourself.
