I want to host a Mom's Night Out for about 8 ladies in my neighborhood. I'm thinking about serving white wine and maybe four different appetizers. Does this sound like enough? Does anyone have recommendations for some fabulous semi-fancy appetizers? Any other ideas to make it fun or interesting?
Also, would it be weird if we just hung out in my dining area the whole time? The rest of my home is kinda blah looking, so I want to keep people away from there if possible. I've never even hosted a dinner at my house!
Re: Mom's Night Out
I think with only 8 ladies just staying in one area of the home is fine...just make sure the chairs are comfortable
I would recommend having about 5 appetizers and 2 desserts.
Appetizers:
Southwestern Eggrolls
Spinach Dip Bites
Hummus with Pita Chips and Veggies
Chicken Skewers
Coconut Shrimp; fried or baked
Dessert:
Strawberries with Brown Sugar and Sour Cream
Cookie Dough Truffles
I like jjs menu. I would probably have more than white wine. Not a full bar, but maybe add a red and a martini or mojito or margarita.
People generally stay in one area anyway- wherever the food and drink is. Make sure the chairs are comfy and consider playning an easy game- bunco, some cards, nothing taxing on the brain.
Ditto pps. Here are some other appetizer/dessert ideas, too.
Gruyere Palmiers
Wild Mushroom and Thyme Bouchees
Bacon Wrapped Dates
Raspberry Cream Pavlovas (just make them smaller)
those look delish! thanks for sharing!
