The one that is too big for its driveway. The same one that parks on the street and takes up half the street. The very one that parks far enough forward on the street that nobody (myself in my SMART included) can move in front of to see if it's safe to turn onto the street, and thus forces people to stop in the middle of the road at the stop sign, praying that nobody turns onto the street. The one that I want to ram my car into whenever I see it.
Yeah, I noticed last week that they're the only people in our neighborhood with the gigantic trash can. The 90 gallon size. When everyone else (impressively, including the family of four adults and two kids that lives a couple houses down) uses the 35 gallon size. And doesn't seem to ever have their recycling cart out.
I wonder if they were forced to move to Portland and hate it here. Maybe the Hummer and the garbage and not recycling is their way of rebelling?
Re: So you know that Hummer that I hate?
there was a hummer i hated once at work. he had an obnoxious vanity plate about size or something like that, and he never parked well or at the top of the structure, furthest from the exits. the spots are super tight, so he usually ruined 1-2 OTHER spots with his awful parking abilities.
ETA: his vanity plate was MEGA-X or something like that.

Ha, that is a contradiction!
No, it's a sort of silvery/goldish color.
This made me laugh -- especially when I saw that you're in Portland. I recently moved from Corvallis (which is, of course, a very environmentally conscious town) to Philomath which is more or less a redneck logger town. Just a distance of about 6 miles, but the differences are radical! Nearly everyone here has the HUGE garbage cans. I have no idea how one family needs to throw away that much stuff.
Growing up, I lived in the country and we only had garbage pickup once a month. Our family of five only had a regular sized garbage can, and we managed just fine. Recycling sure makes a big difference.
BFP #2 EDD 5/19/13 Let's do this!
Bahaha... they're all 'damn treehuggers! we'll show you PDX'!
They are probably totally oblivious.
I wonder if you could complain to the police department about it blocking the ability to see onto the road?
I like that idea. At the very least, I'm going to talk to our landlords and see if they can mention it to the HOA.
I would totally do this. I would also stick one of these right on his windshield, but I'm BSC like that
OMG I LOVE those stickers! I wonder if I'd get caught sticking it on the Hummer in the middle of the night . . .
I'll totally hum the Mission: Impossible theme song while I do it, too. Then I'll definitely be safe!
Is this a good complaint for the PD?
Turning onto Y Street from X Street is tricky; Y Street is busy, has people speeding, and has a corner that prevents a clear view of the road. And that's before the Hummer that parks on the street is considered. When parked on the street, the Hummer extends far out onto X Street. Thus, when drivers stop at the stop sign on X Street they're forced to stop in the middle of the street. The Hummer parks far enough ahead that cars can't creep out in front of to make sure it's safe to turn.
I only have 500 characters to complain.
